What the creation date of a platform's domain can and cannot show

A domain's creation date says when the name was first registered, not when the current website appeared, not who operates it, and not where the business runs from. The table above records the domain as written in the entry, the creation date from public registration data, and the list the entry came from. A date is a fact about the domain, not a finding about the platform.
Domains named in Pakistani lists, and their creation dates
Only domains that appear in an entry already published by a Pakistani regulator.

What a domain creation date is
A domain name is the address of a website. It is registered for a period, and the registration data includes a creation date: the day the name was first registered. The creation date is not the day the website was built, not the day the business started, and not the day the platform began taking clients. A domain can be registered years before a website appears, and a website can be built on a domain that is years old.
The creation date is read from public registration data. That data can be hidden by privacy services, and it can change when a domain is transferred. The table above shows the date as read, not a judgment that the date is accurate or complete. The date is rechecked monthly.
What the table above records
The table above records the domain as written in the entry, the creation date from public registration data, and the list the entry came from. The list is the Pakistani regulator's list that named the domain. The table quotes no figure and no name in prose; the table itself carries the data. A row is a record of what the registration data showed at the time of reading.
The domain as written in the entry may differ from the domain as it appears today. The entry may have been published by the regulator at an earlier date. The list the entry came from is shown so the reader can find the original and see the context in which the domain was named.
What a young domain does not show
A young domain does not show that the platform is a fraud. It does not show that the platform is new, that the business is new, or that the people behind it are new. A company may have operated for years under a different name and registered a new domain for a new product. A domain may be young because the previous domain was lost or sold.
A young domain is a fact about the domain, not a fact about the platform. It may be a reason to ask more questions, but it is not a reason to decide anything. The reader should ask the platform for its legal entity and home regulator, and check that regulator's register. The domain age is one record among several.
What an old domain does not show
An old domain does not show that the platform is safe, honest, or permitted. A domain can be registered years before a website appears, and a website can be repurposed. A domain may be old because it was bought from a previous owner. The creation date says nothing about who operates the website today.
An old domain may be used by a platform that has no licence and no regulator. The reader should not conclude that an old domain means a safe platform. The checks are separate: is the firm registered with any body in Pakistan, is the activity allowed, and how new is the website? Each question has its own record.
Why the date can change
The creation date is read from public registration data. That data can be hidden by privacy services, and it can change when a domain is transferred. A domain that changes hands may show a new creation date if the registry resets the field. The table above is rechecked monthly, so a later reading may show a different date for the same domain.
The date shown is the one published by the registry or registrar at the time of reading. This site does not investigate the history of the domain or the ownership. The table records what the registration data showed, not what the true history is. The reader should treat the date as a clue, not a verdict.
What to do with a domain age
Use the domain age as one check among several. If a platform is named in a Pakistani regulator's list, the domain age can show when its website was first registered. It cannot show whether the platform is permitted to operate in Pakistan. The reader should check the State Bank and the SECP for the present position.
The domain age table is not a rating. No platform is rated or ranked on this site. The table records what the registration data showed, and the prose here explains what the date can and cannot show. The reader decides what to do with the information.
A domain's age tells you nothing about who owns it now
The creation date is set when a name is first registered. It does not update when the domain is sold, transferred, or inherited. A platform that is run by one group this year may have been registered by someone else years ago for an unrelated purpose. The public record often shows only the registrar and the dates, not the people behind the screen.
A reader who sees an old date may assume the same owners have been operating all along. That assumption is not supported by the record. Ownership changes are common, especially for short dictionary words or names that become valuable later. The creation date stays the same even if the registrant's name, address, and email all change.
When a platform claims a long track record, the domain age is sometimes offered as proof. But the age only proves the name has existed. It does not prove that the current operator was involved from the beginning, nor that the site has always offered the same service. The date is a starting point, not a biography.
A recently created domain may simply be a rebrand
Operators sometimes move to a new name while keeping the same business. This can happen after a regulator issues a warning, after a payment processor cuts them off, or simply because a cleaner name is available. The new domain starts with a fresh creation date. The old name may be abandoned or left to expire.
A reader who sees a young domain might conclude the business itself is young. That is not what the record shows. The record shows only when this particular name was registered. The people behind it may have been running similar sites under other names for years. The table on this page records the date for the name listed, not the age of the operation.
When a public list names a platform, the creation date of that domain is one data point. It cannot show whether the name is the first used by these operators or the latest in a series. Rebranding is a known pattern in many online businesses, including those that later attract regulatory attention. The date alone cannot separate a new venture from a new coat of paint.
An old domain can be bought, rented, or hijacked
There is a secondary market for registered domains. Names that are short, memorable, or contain useful keywords can be sold for significant sums. A platform may acquire a name that was first registered many years ago. The creation date remains the original one, giving the appearance of a long-established site.
In some cases a domain is not sold outright but rented. The owner keeps control of the registration and lets another party use the name for a period. The public record may continue to show the original owner. The creation date still refers to the first registration, not to the start of the current arrangement.
Hijacking is another possibility. If a domain owner loses access to their registrar account, the name can be transferred to a new party. The creation date does not change. A reader looking only at the age of the domain would see an old site, but the people operating it may have taken control only recently. The date is not evidence of continuity.
The creation date can be reset by a registrar or a registry
Most domains keep their original creation date for life. But there are circumstances where the date changes. If a domain expires and is deleted, then registered again by someone else, the new registration gets a new creation date. A long gap between expiry and re-registration can make an old name look new.
Some registries allow a domain to be restored after deletion. In that case the creation date may be reset to the restoration date, or it may retain the original date depending on the rules. The same name can thus show different dates at different times. A reader who checks a domain once and again later may see a different number.
When a domain changes registrars, the creation date normally stays the same. But if the transfer is mishandled, or if the name is moved between registry operators, the date can be altered. The table on this page records what the registry reported at the time of the last check. It is a snapshot, not a permanent fact.
A domain's age does not answer the question of registration with any Pakistani body
The creation date of a website is a fact about the domain name system. It is not a fact about any regulator in Pakistan. A platform may have a domain that is ten years old and still hold no licence from the SECP, the State Bank, or the Pakistan Mercantile Exchange. Conversely, a newly registered domain could belong to a firm that has just received a licence.
A reader who wants to know whether a platform is registered with a Pakistani body must check the relevant registers. The domain age is not a substitute for that check. The three questions this site asks are separate: is the firm registered, is the activity allowed, and how new is the website. The domain age answers only the third question, and even that answer is limited.
When a public list names a platform, the table on this page shows the creation date of the domain. It does not show whether the platform appears on any other register. A reader who relies on the domain age to judge legitimacy is using the wrong tool. The date is a clue about the name, not a verdict on the operator.
How hosting infrastructure can misrepresent a platform's true age
A domain's age is recorded from its registration date, but the website behind it may have been rebuilt on newer infrastructure. A platform can buy an aged domain from a reseller and place a fresh, untested interface on top of it. The domain then looks established, while the system handling user accounts and payments is only weeks old. Readers who rely on the creation date alone will miss this distinction.
The hosting provider and name servers can also be changed without altering the original registration record. A platform may register a domain in one country, park it for years, then move it to a different host when launching a trading offer. The public whois record continues to show the old creation date, but the operational setup is new. This gap between registration and deployment is common with domains sold in aftermarkets.
Pakistan's own registries do not require a business to prove it has operated continuously since the domain was registered. A platform can hold a domain for a long period while doing nothing, then begin soliciting clients. The age shown in the table is therefore a record of the name, not of the service. Treat it as one data point among several, never as evidence of a long trading history.

Questions on crypto and networks
What is a domain creation date?
It is the day the domain name was first registered. It is not the day the website was built, not the day the business started, and not the day the platform began taking clients. The date is read from public registration data, which can be hidden by privacy services and can change when a domain is transferred.
Does a young domain mean the platform is a fraud?
No. A young domain is a fact about the domain, not a fact about the platform. A company may have operated for years under a different name and registered a new domain for a new product. It may be a reason to ask more questions, but it is not a reason to decide anything.
Does an old domain mean the platform is safe?
No. An old domain does not show that the platform is safe, honest, or permitted. A domain can be registered years before a website appears, and a website can be repurposed. The creation date says nothing about who operates the website today.
Why might the creation date change?
The creation date is read from public registration data. That data can be hidden by privacy services, and it can change when a domain is transferred. A domain that changes hands may show a new creation date if the registry resets the field. The table is rechecked monthly.
What should I do with a domain age?
Use it as one check among several. If a platform is named in a Pakistani regulator's list, the domain age can show when its website was first registered. It cannot show whether the platform is permitted to operate. Check the State Bank and the SECP for the present position.
What opening an account means
A CFD account with an overseas broker is a legal agreement, not a registration with a Pakistani exchange. Before you open one, read the client agreement and the risk warning, and check the broker's legal entity and home regulator on its own register.
